About the Journal

The International Journal of Computers and Geoinformatics (IJoCG) publishes high-impact, original research at the intersection of Computer Sciences and Geoinformatics. Submissions should utilize modern computer science paradigms, whether computational or informatics-based, to address challenges and advancements in geoinformatics and related fields.

Computational/informatics elements of interest include: computational methods; algorithms; data models; database management and retrieval; spatial data analysis; remote and near-sensing data processing; artificial intelligence; machine learning; computer graphics; data visualization; programming languages; parallel and distributed systems; cloud computing; geospatial ontologies; software engineering; and Web-based geoinformatics applications.

Geoinformatics topics of interest encompass: geographic information systems (GIS); remote sensing; photogrammetry; cartography; geodetic reference systems; positioning systems; spatial data infrastructure; thematic mapping; environmental monitoring; hydrology; land use planning; cadastral systems; urban planning; disaster management; forestry; oceanography; atmospheric studies; and geomatics applications in various fields.

While other disciplines may be considered, priority is given to research that innovatively combines computational techniques with geoinformatics to solve contemporary geospatial challenges and drive the development of geospatial technologies.
